It's All Mental...

Updated: Nov 6, 2019

What we think, we become. What we focus on, we become obsessed with. What we’re consistently around, eventually becomes us.

What we allow inside of our minds ultimately determines our direction.

Have you ever thought about something that 'would never happen”, but it did?

It may have been something that you wanted to happen or something you dreaded, but at one point you thought about it so much that it manifested into something real.

That’s how powerful our thoughts are.

We have the ability to create our reality be being intentional when it comes to our thought process and ultimate mindset.

So, I have to ask you this question: What are you thinking about?

What keeps you up at night and wakes you up in the morning? What are you worrying about or anxious for? What is that voice in your head saying to you every day?

Next question: Who are you listening/talking to?

As we progress in life and strive to be healthier humans, we have to be very aware of who we surround ourselves with and what kind of energy those people bring into our lives. What are your closest friends saying to you and is it healthy? When you share your dreams and goals with them, how do they respond? Are they on the same B.S. or are they trying to better as well?

Let’s face it, some people are just draining and don’t contribute to your “should be” positive outlook at all.

Next question: What are you consuming?

What books, TV shows, movies, and music are you taking in? When we are aware of what we need individually, we begin to make better decisions when it comes to information consumption.

For example: Dealing with a breakup? Well if you’re working on healing and moving forward, you should probably stay away from songs, movies, or TV shows that remind you of the pain and/or don’t encourage healing, but instead encourage bitterness (Love and Hip Hop, Divorce Court, any Keisha Cole song, your bitter bestie, etc.).

Our thoughts translate into feelings which often become actions. This is why it’s so important to protect your mental at all cost.

The phrase “A mind is a terrible thing to waste” is so accurate. We waste time focusing on the wrong things more often than we should and surround ourselves with people that don’t impact our lives in a positive way.

Yet... we wonder why we wake up some mornings not in the best headspace and then go to sleep at night mentally exhausted. Your thoughts are wearing you out!

So, I challenge you to intentionally think about what you’re thinking about. Seriously.

Then adjust accordingly.

Remember This Sis: Your mind is your most powerful weapon. What you think, you become. What you believe, you manifest.
